I suspected that if we asked, someone would say something like “hey buddy, nothing’s free”. But I was way wrong. Seth (the owner) is so proud and confident of his house-roasted coffee that he gives away espresso on weekends to entice coffee lovers to buy his beans through the shop’s Dutch door or by mail order. I’m not a coffee guy but Sarah loves the stuff and LOVES Seth’s coffees, which he sources from small, sustainable farms and coops in Peru, Nicaragua, Brazil, Colombia, and other coffee havens. Seth is a brimming pot of coffee knowledge and he is happy to talk about coffee as much as you want. I asked if he sleeps much because he has been drinking espresso with customers all day on weekends for 27 years. He says he sleeps mostly during the week. “ My girlfriend and I were visiting Bisbee because it was on her bucket list of places to go to. We were both instantly hooked when we saw the “Ask for a free espresso shot” sign as we are heavy coffee drinkers. This place was amazing and Seth was such a great guy and host to our coffee needs and wants. We tried the Guatemala coffee flavor and it was probably the best espresso shot I’ve had to date. I was sad we didn’t go earlier in the day because we had exceeded our caffeine limit for the day.
